Black Friday Advertising via Your Customers

by Robyn Wright on November 25, 2011

Do you have retail stores that customers will be at on Black Friday? Consider having your customers advertise for you. You can include your own updates as well, but by having your customers share their experiences you reach an even larger audience.

An example would be having a giveaway where entries come from those who post updates on Facebook or Twitter while shopping at your store. Be sure to include plenty of simple signage around the store that gives your brands Facebook and Twitter pages and the hashtag they need to include for an entry. Encourage them to snap a quick photo even and share it. Other
suggestions you can make include asking your customers to share their Black Friday best deal, favorite find, or greatest sale price they find.

Not only will your customers be promoting your deals for you, but you will increase your social media presence all at the same time. This is definitely a fun way to encourage your customers to be a part of your social media community.

Engaging Bloggers to Promote Your Brand

by Robyn Wright on November 18, 2011

For many brands, bloggers can be a great source of promotion. A good example of this is in the “mommy blogger” community. Many of these women have enormous social media influence and creating a relationship with them can be a big boost for your brand. There are several different ways to start engaging with them.

  1. Respond when they have already blogged about your brand. You should be using some tracking services to catch your brand name around the internet and when you get a hit for a blog go there and make sure to comment on those posts.
  2. Seek out bloggers and offer them samples of your products and services. It does not guarantee that they will write about it, but many times it will get you a mention.
  3. Consider hiring bloggers to help promote your brand via their sphere of influence. This is not paying for a review; rather it is engaging the blogger to spread the word for you. Their opinions should still be honest.
  4. Create an experience and invite bloggers to learn more about your brand. Consider tours of your headquarters, some background information, forward looking insight, and the like for this experience.

These are just a few of the ways you can work with bloggers. While it is possible to tackle these projects on your own, hiring an agency can be very beneficial as they have experience working on these types of relationships already and will help guide you through the process. These are all areas that Two Minds Interactive can help with. We would love to talk with you about your brand, email us or call us today at info@twomindsinteractive.com or 877-576-3038.

Think You Don’t Need Social Media For Your Biz? Think Again!

by Danyelle Little on November 16, 2011

In some business circles, social media is undervalued and underused. Traditional, old school types think it’s a waste of time “playing on the computer”. And I agree—social media for businesses requires a strategy, plan, and course of action. But simply not being online or having an online social media presence is not the way to go these days.

Look at it like this:

Would you ignore an email from a customer or potential client wanting to do business?

Would you not answer a phone call from a customer or potential client?

Would you not have a website online to compete with other businesses in your genre?

Then why wouldn’t you have a social media presence? And why would you ignore your online social networks?

It’s not playing around on the computer.

It’s creating a change to engage and interact with people online who may want to do business with you.

If you are already using social media, you may have set some goals for yourself. Do those goals look something like obtain 1,000 likes on Facebook, have 500 new followers on Twitter, or other such numbers? Those are metrics, not goals. While metrics are great to help you see if you are headed in the right direction, setting goals is telling yourself what direction you want to go to start with.

Look at the bigger picture when setting your goals. Adding a target percentage is a good way to go if you need numbers in there, but remember it is a guide and not a hard and fast rule. As you review your metrics on a regular basis you will be able to see if you are making strides toward achieving those goals. If you are, great, keep going! If you are not then take a look at the strategies and actions you have already taken and where they need to be changed or improved. You want to give your ideas long enough to take hold, but know when it is time for an adjustment as well.

I want to increase brand awareness.

I want to re-engage past customers.

I want our brand to become the known as the best value in it’s class.

I want our customers to know we are listening to their needs on social media.

Social Is Key to Social Media

by Robyn Wright on November 12, 2011

The biggest key to remember about social media is that it should be social. Yes, it is an opportunity to broadcast information to your current and potential customers, but ideally you want to engage with those people using social media. That is what makes social media so popular, it is not just another advertisement for people to look past to get to the other content they seek. The social factor allows them to become engaged with your brand, you become the content they seek because you are showing an interest in them, providing interactive experiences, and listening to what they truly have to say. Do not be discouraged if the interaction is slow to start, be persistent and you will see it grow. Here are some ideas to get you started.

  • Ask Questions
Do this at the end of every blog post you write, ask questions on your company Facebook page, Twitter account, Google+ account and everywhere else. This gives your customers a reason to interact with you.
  • Reply To Every Comment
It is imperative that you reply to all the comments, positive and negative, in a timely manner. Remember being social requires more than one party to communicate.
  • It Is Not All Business
While your end goal may be customers for your brand, engaging in non-business related conversations makes you more personal. Talk about local sports teams, weather, holidays, etc.

Which of these ideas are you already implementing?
